Upgrade Your Opposite

The words we use impact how we experience the world.

I talked to a woman the other day about living a delicious life.

  • She got very excited.

  • And then started shutting down.

I asked what was going on.

She replied, “I’m not really comfortable putting myself first. That’s not being a Good Girl.”

She was concerned about becoming the opposite of a Good Girl!

  • I asked her what the opposite was.

  • She had two powerful descriptors.

  • Bad Girl – and Bitch!

Given those options, I didn’t blame her for not wanting to shift things in her life,

  • I asked her what might be a third option to describe the opposite of Good Girl.

  • She was stumped.
  • Never really thought about it before.

She didn’t realize another choice existed!

I shared my definition of the opposite of being a Good Girl – which is being an Empowered Woman.

  • The concept was mind-blowing.

  • Scary and exciting.

  • She’s going to take some to think about it.

Makes me think of successful women who want to live delicious lives…are you willing to explore upgrading your definition of the opposite of a Good Girl?
