When running overwhelmed and stressed out, it’s not uncommon for standards to start sliding – and you may not even realize it is happening.
So, this is an educational PSA from the heart…
Five minutes in the bathroom alone is NOT a visit to the spa.
Five minutes in the bathroom alone is NOT a visit to the spa.
Women raised as Good Girls are told to be selfless servants responsible for everyone else’s feelings.
- This deep training causes them to put taking care of themselves last on their to-do lists.
- As a result, women still living by the Good Girl Rules rarely can dedicate time and energy for self-care.
I recently chatted with two different women who tried to justify five minutes alone in the bathroom as a spa appointment.
- (I know what you might say about young children… One had kids in their teens. The other had a dog.)
- Basically, an extra step in cleaning their face was all the self-care they felt they could afford timewise.
The reality is if you don’t find time to soothe your nervous system and relax, it’s nearly impossible to let your brilliance shine in your work and life.
You deserve to shine. Make the time.
