She Slithered On Over!

I felt bad about changing my mind and saying “No.”

Until she SLITHERED onto the scene!

James and his friends swim a few miles in a lake most Saturdays.

James invited me to join him this weekend.

  • I love being by the water.
  • Would be sitting by myself for almost two hours.
  • Enough time to scheme all sorts of things!

I agreed to go – and even get doughnuts for his crew.

But then it got colder this weekend.

  • Sitting by the side of the lake in the mid-60s didn’t sound as fun.
  • Even taking one of my big Party Porch fuzzy blankets with me.
  • I honored my gut, stayed home – and boy am I thankful I did!

When James got back to the space where I would have been sitting, an unexpected guest joined him – and s
he slithered right up to his table!

  • James thought he might have heard a rattle!
  •  James called the park staff – who quickly arrived and removed the snake.
  • Thankfully, she wasn’t a rattler.

All I needed to see was the word SNAKE in the text from James to know I made the RIGHT decision yesterday!

  • Thank goodness I listened to my gut!
  • I’ve had passing nightmares for the last 24 hours thinking about her coming over to cuddle with me in my warm, fuzzy blanket by the lake!

Makes me think of people who (used to) hate networking… Do you listen to your gut and take a pause when warning bells are ringing?
