Thanksgiving is an interesting holiday for us.
- Honestly, it’s a bit of a drag.
- We don’t have any family in the area to spend it with.
- Neither James (my husband) nor I enjoy cooking big meals that much.
Usually, we suck it up and try to do some modified version of a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
- We get through the holiday as best we can.
- Often doing some work to get ahead since everyone else is taking the day off.
- (The perks of working from home.)
This year, we decided to create a day we would enjoy.
- NO turkey!
- NO sitting home alone!
We decided to go see Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour movie.
- We invited a friend who was also alone.
- Went to a movie theater that served fancy food.
- And were surprised to have the theater basically to ourselves for the whole show!
It was the best Thanksgiving ever!
- We laughed, danced and sang along with Taylor Swift.
- We ate delish food.
- Extra bonus: Our friend brought James a homemade apple pie for later!
So much fun!
(Now we have to figure out what to do for Christmas!)
Makes me think of successful women who were raised as Good Girls…how do you change traditions you don’t really enjoy?
