She wants what she wants.
Could teach classes in direct communication!
Ruby is my snuggly girl.
(You might call her a dog.)
Last night, we were watching a game show while waiting for the WNBA game to start.
- We sat on the couch.
- Me in one corner.
- Her in the other – gently snoozing.
Ruby woke up with a start and demanded my attention.
- She had trouble settling back down.
- Perhaps the result of a bad dream?
A few pets were not enough.
- Ruby stuck out her paw.
- She wanted to be in contact and hold my hand.
When I tried holding it for just a few moments while talking to her – she got upset.
- She didn’t want a 10-second hold.
- She wanted my hand connected to hers for longer than that.
I ended up holding her paw for almost ten minutes as she eased back into snoozing on the couch.
She knew what she needed, asked for it – and got it.
Makes me think of people who (used to) hate networking…. How do you ask for (and get) the support you need as you get better at networking?
(If you don’t know any friends working on their networking skills, let me know. Magnetic Marketing could be a “Ruby-approved” supporting home for you. You don’t need to build your skills alone.)
